Commercial Loan Syndication Analyst

Flagstar Bank

This is a Full-time position in Troy, MI posted June 10, 2021.

The Commercial Loan Syndication Analyst is responsible for the booking of new Syndications and servicing a portfolio of over 782 Million of committed Syndication loans where Flagstar is the agent.

The Commercial Loan Syndication Analyst will be the point person for participating banks for loan inquires, rate updates and daily notifications.

The Analyst ensure all financial activity is balanced and recorded timely each month.

The analyst must have strong analytical and communication skills to build and keep strong rapport with high exposure clients.

Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, and willingness to step in, assertiveness and good judgment.

Assist in training staff.

• Effectively communicate with participating banks daily to provide notices on servicing transactions such as rate changes, payments, advances and fees including processing the transactions on the accounting system.

• Booking and servicing Syndication loans where multiple banks are participating.

Ensure loans are booked timely and record income recognition accurately.

• Reconcile loan balances and transactions with participating bank including balancing General Ledgers in relation to Syndication loans before month end.

• Assist in the review of Syndication user guides to ensure the proper documentation Daily workflows are current.

• Work with the Commercial Loan Documentation Closer to ensure timely processing of funding new and modified Syndication loans.

1-3 years of experience with servicing systems (AFS preferable),

1-3 years’ experience understanding syndicated transactions

HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent

3 years of college level accounting courses OR related experience

2 years of experience in processing payments, fees and/or advances.

Commercial experience is preferred

2 years of experience with Excel and Word

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Strong attention to details

Strong customer service skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work well with others and independently

Ability to work well under stressful conditions
